About the Role
Job description
HyImpulse is now looking for experienced engineers with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field to join our growing team in Germany. You will help operate and develop new and existing test facilities for rocket engines and space propulsion systems. This is an exciting time to join the company: following the recent launch of our sounding rocket, we are entering a significant growth phase alongside the development of our orbital launcher.We are seeking exceptional candidates who are passionate about rockets, ready to work in a fast-paced environment, and eager to take on challenging projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and operation of fluid systems and test benches for rocket engines and space propulsion systems at our German or UK test facilities
- Development and integration of test bench modifications and expansions
- Participation in test campaigns at our German or UK testing facilities
- Post-processing of data from experimental campaigns and technical reporting
- System design and selection of technical components
- Ensure compliance with applicable German and EU or UK safety, quality and environmental standards
- Technical coordination with external contractors and suppliers
Basic Qualification
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field
- Very good understanding of process plants, testing facilities, fluid components, control and data acquisition systems
- Very good understanding of cryogenic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and of the effects related to cryogenic fluids and compressed gases
- Knowledge of different sensor types and data acquisition systems; understanding of process plant control and electrical systems
- Experience using software for modelling and simulation, CAD, PLM, requirements and systems engineering, project planning, and MS Office
- Very good English skills
- Right to work in Germany / the EU or UK
- Hands-on experience with LabVIEW programming and National Instruments (NI) measurement, data acquisition and control hardware is a plus
- German language skills is a plus

- Experience in operations of process plants
- Practical experience in rocket propulsion testing and handling of cryogenic fluids

This role can be based in Glasgow, Scotland. This position requires availability to travel frequently to our facilities in Neuenstadt am Kocher, Germany or our test and launch facilities in Europe, including at short notice and for extended periods, in line with company needs.
