About the Role
The Social Media Coordinator supports Bouldering Project’s local digital presence by creating authentic, timely, and engaging content that reflects the energy of the gym and its community. This role focuses exclusively on social media execution, partnering closely with gym leadership and the Regional Marketing Manager to bring the brand to life online.
This position is ideal for someone who is highly observant, creatively curious, and enjoys capturing real moments, stories, and experiences as they happen.
This role will work across both Minneapolis and St. Paul Bouldering Project locations.
What You’ll Do
Social Media Content & Engagement
- Execute the local social media strategy established by the Regional Marketing Manager
- Create, schedule, and publish content across approved social platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook)
- Capture and share authentic, real-time content that highlights the gym, staff, members, and offerings
- Write captions that align with Bouldering Project’s voice, values, and brand standards
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and thoughtful manner
- Collaborate with gym leadership to ensure social content reflects current programming and updates
- Stay informed on social media trends and platform best practices and adjust execution as needed
Coordination & Collaboration
- Partner with the General Manager and local teams to identify content opportunities
- Coordinate with the Regional Marketing Manager to ensure consistency across markets
- Maintain content calendars and track posts to support reporting and alignment
- Support basic analytics tracking (engagement, reach, consistency) as requested
Requirements

Required Qualifications
- Strong written communication skills with an eye for tone and clarity
- Comfort engaging with people and capturing content in an active, public environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently with guidance
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing or contributing to social media accounts for a brand, business, or community
- Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, and mobile content creation tools
- Experience in a guest-facing or community-oriented role
- Interest in climbing, fitness, wellness, or creative storytelling
