About the role

To reinforce our centralized ICT team in Belgium, we are looking for a Head of (Group) ICT. In this role you will lead and develop the ICT leadership organisation and ensure a strong alignment between the business strategy of JDN and the ICT execution.

The ICT organisation employs +150 people and is organised in Development and Operations teams. The development teams comprise Architecture, ERP (MS Dynamics), Production, Finance, Administration & HR. The operations teams provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support for various business needs like automation, communication and support for vessel infrastructure, construction projects, offices, warehouses,... . The organisation employs specialised technical support engineers, developers, system engineers,... .The organisation deploys 3 data centres.

What you’ll do

As ICT Director your final goal is to realise a future proof, effective and consistent ICT organisation supporting the growth of JDN.Your key responsibilities will include:

  • You lead and develop the ICT leadership organisation, bringing together strong managers and experts around a common vision and clear strategic priorities. You will foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement and high performance;
  • You make an in-depth analysis of the current ICT organisation, architecture, capabilities and assess opportunities and risks;
  • You engage with business leaders and understand current and future business needs. You will act as a strategic advisor and challenger to the Management Team on all matters relating to IT, technology and digitalisation. You will provide an independent perspective, challenge existing assumptions and ways of working;
  • You will identify and evaluate emerging technologies like AI and digital solutions and determine where these can create meaningful value for the business. You will assess where these technologies can increase efficiency, strengthen competitiveness or fundamentally transform ways of working;
  • You will shape the organisation's digitalisation agenda and translate the ICT and digital vision into a coherent strategic roadmap. You define priorities and major transformation initiatives, capabilities, investments and milestones required to realise the organisation’s ambitions. You ensure that priorities are clearly established and IT investments are aligned with strategic goals;
  • You will drive enterprise-wide digital transformation and innovation. You will challenge the ICT leadership and organisation to continuously improve and rethink exiting processes, systems and applications. You will own the strategic IT investment and financial framework, ensuring the resources and investments are directed towards the most strategic priorities;
  • You are responsible to ensure the continuity and security of the organisation’s IT landscape, anticipating technological, operational and cyber risks and ensuring that necessary capabilities and investments are in place to protect and support the organisation’s activities.

You will work from our centralized offices in Belgium, Aalst (Hofstade) and report to the CFO.

Your profile

  • Experienced and strategic ICT leader with +20 years track record in leading an ICT department in a high demanding organisation and defining a future-proof IT and digital strategy.
  • Combining a strategic vision with a strong operational execution and a deep affinity for technology, digital transformation and innovation.
  • A strong people leader who creates clarity, ownership and accountability within multidisciplinary teams. Connect IT specialists with business leaders and external partners around common objectives.
  • Proven experience in leading transformation programmes, managing a diverse technology portfolio and setting clear priorities across multiple business needs.
  • Experience in acting as a strategic sparring partner to the Management Team and senior leadership, challenging the organisation where needed and ensuring that technology investments deliver measurable business value.
  • You are able to bring solid business and financial acumen.
