Purpose and Scope
To support the Diocese of Phoenix in its mission to encounter the living Christ, the Human Resources Analyst actively supports Human Resources functions throughout the employee lifecycle, including HRIS administration, compensation analysis, reporting, workforce data management, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations and HR compliance. This position serves as a key resource for maintaining accurate employee data, supporting equitable compensation practices, optimizing HR processes, and ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws, Diocesan policies, and best practices.

- Processes and maintains employee lifecycle transactions within Paylocity HRIS, including hires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, leave administration, and separations, while ensuring data integrity and accurate recordkeeping
- Responds to HR-related inquiries, provides guidance to employees and managers, and escalates complex or sensitive matters to the HR Manager/HR Operations Manager as appropriate.
- Serves as a primary HRIS resource by supporting system administration, troubleshooting, workflow enhancements, testing system updates, and providing user support and training.
- Develops, maintains, and analyzes HR, compensation, payroll, benefits, compliance, and workforce analytics reports; conducts routine audits to ensure data accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Assists in the administration of compensation programs, including job evaluations, salary structure maintenance, market pricing analysis, compensation recommendations, and annual salary review processes.
- Assists with the creation, revision, and maintenance of HR policies, procedures, job descriptions, employee communications, training initiatives, and other HR-related documentation.
- Monitors compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, compensation regulations, and Diocese policies while participating in audits, system enhancements, special projects, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

- Working knowledge of HR administration, employee relations, compensation practices, HRIS systems, and employment law.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and spreadsheet management.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms; Paylocity experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and independent decision-making.
- Ability to work effectively with employees, managers, parishes, schools, agencies, and Diocesan leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have knowledge of and respect for Catholic Church teachings, structure, and mission; active, practicing membership in the Catholic Church is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, Finance, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience, including HRIS administration, compensation analysis, recruitment, or employee relations.
- Experience utilizing HRIS systems and generating HR reports and analytics.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, lookup functions, and reporting tools.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, CCP, or HRIS-related certifications preferred.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish highly preferred.
Work Environment
- This job operates in a professional office environment.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and scanners.
- Remote work for focus projects may be approved by the supervisor on an occasional basis.
Physical Demands
- This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
