PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As the second-ranking operational leader of the hotel, the Hotel Manager provides strategic and hands-on leadership across all operating departments, including Culinary, Food & Beverage, and Rooms. This role is responsible for establishing and executing operational policies, business strategies, revenue initiatives, workforce development plans, and service excellence programs that support the hotel's overall objectives.

Working in close partnership with the General Manager, the Hotel Manager oversees the day-to-day operation of the hotel while providing leadership, direction, and accountability for departmental performance, guest satisfaction, financial results, and team member engagement.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Experience

  • Senior-level leadership experience within a luxury hotel environment overseeing Rooms and Food & Beverage operations.
  • Minimum of seven years of progressive operational leadership experience in a luxury hospitality setting preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

  • Demonstrated success leading complex hotel operations while consistently achieving financial and service objectives.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Profitsage, Unifocus, ADP, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Thorough understanding of Forbes Travel Guide standards and luxury hospitality service delivery.
  • Ability to lead effectively in dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving environments.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence in guest experience.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative partnerships and foster a culture of teamwork and accountability.
  • Effective people leader with a strong foundation in employee relations, talent development, performance management, and sound human resources practices.
  • Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to make timely, well-informed decisions.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to perform successfully under pressure.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as business needs require.

Essential Responsibilities

The Hotel Manager supports the General Manager in directing all aspects of hotel operations, with primary oversight of the Rooms and Food & Beverage divisions, including but not limited to:

  • Provide overall leadership and operational oversight for the hotel, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and brand standards.
  • Participate in Executive Committee and strategic planning meetings, contributing to business planning and operational decision-making.
  • Review daily revenue, labor, and operational performance reports; analyze results and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Monitor and manage departmental expenses, capital investments, and approved projects to ensure fiscal responsibility and timely completion.
  • Conduct regular property inspections and operational walkthroughs to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Maintain regular engagement with managers, supervisors, and frontline team members to strengthen communication, accountability, and employee engagement.
  • Champion and uphold hotel operational standards, including company service standards and Forbes Travel Guide expectations.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance guest satisfaction, team performance, operational efficiency, and profitability.
  • Partner closely with department leaders to develop talent, succession plans, and operational excellence strategies.
  • Perform other duties and special projects assigned by the General Manager.
