About the role

As a Senior Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for a broad range of accounting activities, supporting the day-to-day financial operations of Syncron's entities while collaborating with Finance colleagues and stakeholders across the global organisation.

You will take ownership of accounting processes, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, support month-end and year-end close activities, and help ensure compliance with Swedish and UK accounting and tax requirements.

The role will suit someone who is comfortable working independently, has strong attention to detail and enjoys identifying opportunities to improve financial processes.

What would you do?

  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities for the Swedish, UK and other Syncron entities within scope, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with applicable accounting standards and local regulations.

  • Prepare and post accounting entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and other month-end adjustments.

  • Perform month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Coordinate cooperation with external accounting offices and other external service providers.

  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.

  • Prepare additional statutory and regulatory reports, including reports for local authorities.

  • Support accounts payable activities, including invoice processing and payment-related activities.

  • Prepare and review complex tax-related data and support tax compliance processes in cooperation with external tax advisors, across different jurisdictions.

  • Review and approve fixed asset accounting entries and ensure proper classification and documentation.

Who you are? / What we expect:

  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within an international organisation or shared services environment.

  • Knowledge of VAT regulations.

  • Practical experience with month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Experience with intercompany accounting and transactions.

  • Experience working with external auditors and/or accounting advisors.

  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.

  • Experience working with an ERP/accounting system; experience with SAP, NetSuite or similar systems would be advantageous.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with an international Finance team.

  • Good written and spoken English is essential.

The icing on the cake:

  • Experience working within a SaaS, software or technology company.

  • Experience supporting accounting across multiple international entities.

  • Experience with finance process automation or ERP implementations.

  • Familiarity with IFRS

  • Experience working with a Finance team operating across different countries and time zones.
