As our Human Resources Coordinator, you’ll help keep our people processes running smoothly and ensure employees receive timely, thoughtful support. You’ll collaborate with our HR virtual assistant, HR Directors of Talent Acquisition and Organizational Development, VP of HR, and organization leaders to support employees from recruitment and onboarding through development and offboarding.
You’ll also help coordinate our volunteer and AmeriCorps programs and support employee technology, school district access requests, and company property tracking in partnership with our IT partner.
This role offers exposure to a broad range of HR functions, meaningful collaboration, and opportunities to grow. HR leadership will guide your priorities, with responsibilities evolving as our team and organization grow.
Position Summary
The Human Resources Coordinator helps keep people processes organized and responsive. The Coordinator works with the HR virtual assistant, the HR Director of Talent Acquisition, the HR Director of Organizational Development, the VP of HR, and organization leaders to support HR services across the employee life cycle.
The role also supports volunteer and AmeriCorps program coordination, employee technology and access needs, and company property tracking. Specific assignments will be set by HR leadership and may evolve as responsibilities are divided among the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Talent acquisition: Support and coordinate assigned recruiting and selection activities with the HR virtual assistant, the HR Director of Talent Acquisition, and hiring leaders. Help maintain timely communication, accurate information, and smooth handoffs throughout the hiring process.
- Onboarding: Help coordinate assigned prehire, orientation, and new hire activities with the HR team and organization leaders. Monitor progress, follow up on outstanding items, and help employees and managers prepare for a successful start.
- Technology, access, and company property: Coordinate laptop setup and distribution for new employees in partnership with the organization’s IT partner. Request and track employee Wi-Fi access, key fobs, and building access through school district partners. Help employees submit IT support requests, follow up on outstanding issues, and coordinate with the IT partner to support timely resolution. Maintain accurate records of assigned laptops, equipment, key fobs, and other company property, including distribution, transfers, and returns. Support onboarding and offboarding by coordinating equipment readiness, property collection, and access changes or removal with the appropriate partners.
- Training and professional development: Support the coordination, communication, scheduling, tracking, and follow-up of mandatory training and development activities in partnership with the HR Director of Organizational Development, the HR virtual assistant, and leaders.
- Employee support and relation Provide a welcoming first point of contact for routine employee questions and connect employees with the appropriate HR resource. Help coordinate follow-up and records as assigned, while promptly referring sensitive or complex concerns to the appropriate HR Director or VP of HR.
- Offboarding: Help coordinate assigned employee transition and offboarding steps with the relevant HR Director, the HR virtual assistant, managers, and other partners to support timely communication and completion.
- Volunteer and AmeriCorps programs: Collaborate with the HR virtual assistant and program leaders to help coordinate volunteer program activities, including communications, scheduling, onboarding, records, and follow-up. Support the HR department with AmeriCorps program administration, including tracking member service hours, maintaining accurate records, and following up on outstanding items. Serve as one of the organization’s points of contact for AmeriCorps representatives and members, responding to routine questions and connecting them with the appropriate HR or program leader as needed.
- HR operations and improvement: Support HR records, systems, reports, calendars, communications, and process improvements as assigned. Identify gaps or delays, maintain confidentiality, and coordinate across the HR team and organization leaders to resolve routine issues.
Requirements
Qualifications
- College coursework or a degree in human resources, business, psychology, or a related field; or approximately 1–2 years of relevant HR, recruiting, employee support, or people operations experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are welcome. Coursework or a degree specifically in human resources is preferred.
- HR certification preferred.
- Strong organization, follow-through, attention to detail, and comfort managing several deadlines at once.
- Clear, respectful written and verbal communication; sound judgment about confidentiality and when to seek guidance.
- Comfort with spreadsheets, calendars, and HRIS or applicant tracking systems; ability to learn new tools quickly.
- Ability to coordinate equipment records, access requests, and IT support follow-up with employees and external partners.
- Interest in a youth development mission and ability to work effectively with employees and managers across multiple functions and sites.
