About the Role

Company Description

Nazarbayev University is seeking an HR professional to join its Talent Management function as a Manager, Talent Development, Performance & Career. The role is responsible for coordinating and supporting key people development processes, including learning and development, performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, career development, and internal mobility.

Working closely with HR Business Partners, Schools, administrative units, and external providers, the Manager will ensure the effective coordination of development programs and corporate HR cycles, maintain accurate talent-related data, and provide timely communications, reports, and materials to support informed HR and management decisions. The role will also contribute to the continuous improvement and digitalization of talent management processes.

Job Description

  • Learning & Development: Support the identification and consolidation of learning and development needs and coordinate the administrative delivery of training and professional development programs, including scheduling, participant registration, communications, materials, and coordination with internal and external providers. Contribute to leadership development programs and individual development plans.
  • Program Effectiveness: Collect participant feedback, participation data, and program outcomes, and prepare consolidated materials to support the evaluation of learning and development initiatives and their effectiveness.
  • Performance Management: Coordinate corporate performance management cycles by preparing and communicating instructions, forms, guidance, and other materials. Monitor completion and deadlines, provide guidance to employees and managers on established processes and tools, and prepare consolidated data for further analysis and decision-making.
  • Talent Reviews & Succession Planning: Support talent review processes in partnership with HR Business Partners and School or unit leadership. Prepare required data and materials, maintain working information on high-potential employees and internal talent pools, and provide organizational support for succession planning for critical roles and monitoring of agreed development actions.
  • Career Development & Internal Mobility: Support the implementation of career development and internal mobility tools and processes in accordance with approved approaches. Prepare information and materials to support HR Business Partners, managers, and employees in matters related to career development, talent management, succession, and internal talent opportunities.
  • HR Data & Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely data related to learning, development, performance management, talent reviews, career development, and other assigned processes in relevant HR systems and working tools. Prepare regular reports, dashboards, and consolidated materials to support HR activities and management decisions.
  • Digitalization & Process Improvement: Participate in the testing and implementation of digital solutions supporting talent management processes. Identify opportunities to simplify and improve processes, materials, and tools based on practical experience and user feedback, and contribute to the standardization of effective practices.
  • Stakeholder & Provider Management: Work closely with HR Business Partners, HR Operations & Employee Relations, Schools, administrative units, external learning providers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and coordinated delivery of assigned processes and initiatives. Maintain effective professional relationships and ensure clear communication across stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Management, Psychology, Education, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience. Professional qualifications or certifications in learning and development, talent management, performance management, or related areas are an advantage.
  • Relevant experience in learning and development, talent management, performance management, career development, human resources, or a related field. Experience coordinating HR programs, working with data and documentation, and interacting with employees, managers, or external providers is preferred.
  • Knowledge of learning and development principles, performance management, talent and succession management, career development, internal mobility, employee development, and HR program evaluation.
  • Practical ability to coordinate HR programs and corporate cycles, prepare communications and materials, work with HR data and reporting, and manage multiple activities and deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with attention to detail and a proactive, service-oriented approach.
  • Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion and maintain high standards of professional ethics.
  • Fluency in Kazakh, Russian, and English, with the ability to communicate professionally and prepare HR materials and reports in all three languages.

Experience in a large, international, educational, or research organization will be considered an advantage.
