We are the largest Jeep dealer in the USA. We offer free loaner cars, free oil changes, 24 hour rescue service, service hours past mid-night and Saturday. Our company vision is satisfying every customer so they not only return to buy automobiles for their family, but they recommend others to purchase from us as well. Our dealership is family owned and operated for over 50 years and we are among the oldest in the Long Island area with original family ownership. We have won many customer service awards and continuously train our staff to create customers for life with every interaction. We recently built a new facility that is the largest and most capable in the country with a 28 car showroom, 43 bays of service, and Express lane oil changes for customer convenience.

Salary - $200,000 - $300,00+ per year inclusive of bonuses

VIP Automotive Group is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Manager to lead and oversee a high-volume dealership Service Department. We are looking for a hands-on, results-driven leader who can maximize technician productivity, improve customer retention, drive service profitability, and develop a high-performing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Automotive Service Manager, Service Director, Assistant Service Manager, or Fixed Operations Leader looking to advance their career with a growing automotive dealer group.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead the daily operations of the dealership Service Department.

  • Manage, motivate, and develop Service Advisors, Technicians, and support staff.

  • Drive service department profitability, productivity, customer retention, and CSI.

  • Monitor technician productivity, efficiency, quality, and available labor hours.

  • Ensure customer-pay, warranty, and internal repair orders are handled accurately and efficiently.

  • Work closely with Service Advisors to maximize labor sales and identify additional service opportunities.

  • Monitor department KPIs, including hours per RO, effective labor rate, technician productivity, labor sales, customer-pay gross profit, CSI, and retention.

  • Maintain proper staffing levels and assist with recruiting, training, and performance management.

  • Ensure dealership and manufacturer service procedures are followed.

  • Maintain high standards for repair order accuracy, vehicle inspections, documentation, and quality control.

  • Help ensure technicians have the tools, equipment, training, and resources necessary to succeed.

  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and work toward a positive customer experience.

  • Partner with the General Manager and other department leaders to achieve dealership goals.

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and professional Service Department.

  • Support manufacturer compliance, warranty procedures, and dealership policies.

  • Analyze department performance and implement strategies to improve profitability and efficiency.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3+ years of automotive dealership service management experience preferred.

  • Previous experience as a Service Manager, Assistant Service Manager, Service Director, or Fixed Operations Manager.

  • Strong understanding of dealership service department operations and profitability.

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate technicians and service advisors.

  • Strong knowledge of automotive repair, service operations, labor sales, warranty, and customer-pay business.

  • Experience monitoring dealership service KPIs and performance metrics.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume dealership environment.

  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.

  • Working knowledge of DMS and automotive service technology.

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
