The Senior Clinical Sales Executive, Prescription Benefit Manager (PBM) and Payor (Sr. CSE- PBM) is the commercial and clinical anchor for each Stellus Rx PBM and Payor client. This role will lead Stellus Rx’s growth in a new market, building strategic relationships, and managing the full sales process from Lead Generation to close of the sale. The right applicant will take the initiative to build and lead a high performing clinical sales team as the market matures. The ideal candidate will be a licensed pharmacist. They will have corporate experience and knowledge in the areas of clinical products and services, operations, business development, sales, and account management in the prescription services space.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full sales cycle from Lead Generation through contract signature, including clinical and operational assessment, proposal development, contracting, and negotiation.
- Assist managing the client relationship post-close: clinical onboarding, member engagement ramp, program utilization review, and relationship continuity until the client is transitioned to the Account Management team.
- Identify and drive cross-sell and upsell opportunities across the full suite of Stellus Rx services within existing client relationships.
- Maintain and deepen enterprise-level relationships across priority PBMs and Payors.
- Assess every client for expansion opportunity across the full Stellus Rx service suite, model the ROI, and track it as real pipeline in CRM.
- Work in close partnership with Operations, Marketing, Data, Product, and Technology teams to drive patient growth, enrollment rate improvements, and clinical program performance.
- Maintain comprehensive CRM data accuracy across active deals and Year-1 accounts; contribute to pipeline reporting.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required with active licensure.
- Strong understanding of prescription services’ economics and clinical pharmacy’s role in cost-of-care improvement.
- Proven ability to close complex, long-cycle enterprise deals in a clinical or healthcare setting.
- Experience managing clinical onboarding and implementation in a healthcare or pharmacy context.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable with CRM, pipeline management, and commercial Performance metrics.
- Experience developing a new sales market preferred.
Success Metrics
The Sr. CSE will be evaluated on both sales performance and account management quality, reflecting responsibility for new market growth and client delivery. Key success metrics include:
- New clients closed vs. quota.
- Time from Discovery to contract signature.
- Revenue growth for both clinical services and prescriptions dispensed.
- Client satisfaction and retention within Year-1 markets.
- Clinical quality and cost-of-care improvement metrics within managed accounts.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required with active licensure.
- 4–7 years of clinical sales, PBM sales, account management or healthcare operations experience, including direct client-facing responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience managing and closing complex enterprise deals in healthcare or clinical settings.
- Knowledge of CMS quality metrics, HIPAA, ACA, and VBC and risk-bearing entity structures.
- Excellent oral and written communication, including executive-level presentation skills.
- PC literate, including Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Experience building a new sales market in the prescription services space.
- Ability to travel for client meetings.
