About the Role

Description

The Assembler I assemble and inspects microwave and millimeter-wave components. Responsibilities include using microscopes and precision tools, following work instructions and engineering drawings, and operating laser marking equipment for product identification. This role collaborates with engineering and quality teams, maintains a clean and safe work environment, follows safety protocols.

Job Description

  • Perform manual assembly of microwave components, including soldering, wire bonding, and mechanical assembly.
  • Use microscopes and precision hand tools to assemble small electronic and mechanical parts.
  • Follow detailed work instructions, blueprints, and engineering drawings to ensure accurate assembly.
  • Conduct visual inspections and testing to verify quality and functionality of components.
  • Work closely with engineering and quality control teams to resolve assembly and marking issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Follow safety procedures and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protocols to protect sensitive components.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities for process optimization.
  • Operate laser marking equipment to etch or engrave product identification on components and enclosures.
  • Ensure laser-marked parts meet quality standards by inspecting markings for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and team members regarding job progress.
  • Team player with a positive attitude, eager to collaborate and contribute to the success of the team.
  • Support special projects, providing additional assistance and resources as needed.

Requirements

  • Must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by Federal Government.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess a California driver’s license.
  • 1+ years of experience in electronic or mechanical assembly preferred.
  • Experience working with microwave, RF, or millimeter-wave components is a plus.
  • Familiarity with laser marking equipment and processes is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Basic soldering skills.
  • Familiar with solder and silver epoxy attachment techniques
  • Ability to use curve tracer to check continuity.
  • Exceptional dexterity for handling small parts.
  • Ability to work in cleanroom.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under a microscope for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.



Physical Requirements:

  

This job operates in a machine shop environment. 

  • Ability to stay in stationary position for extended length of time.
  • Remove or replace up to 25 pounds.
  • Positioning, arranging, or moving items up to certain heights or at ground level.
  • Occasional ascending/descending of Ladders.
  • Ability to use/work on small parts or tools for an extended period of time.
  • Work continuously using a microscope.
