About the Role

Summary

As a Guest Experience Coordinator, you thrive on engaging with guests, creating extraordinary outdoor experiences, and serving as a brand ambassador for Under Canvas. This is a seasonal, hourly position that includes the option of team member housing for the duration of the season.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist other employees in the department.
  • Ability to execute and balance multiple priorities, all while positively engaging with on-site guests and upcoming arrivals.
  • Cultivate and share resources and leads with your supervisor for departmental growth.
  • Ensure all events and adventures are well attended and received.
  • Contribute and assist teammates on-site to maintain high standards of camp operations.
  • Diligently communicate with your supervisor regarding pending priorities and immediate concerns.
  • Demonstrate the stamina to work long hours in varying weather conditions.
  • Effectively coordinate and execute tasks cross-departmentally, including but not limited to Guest Experience, Front Desk, Adventures, Food & Beverage, and Groups.
  • Welcome guests as they arrive, confirm their on-site activities, and set the tone for the duration of their stay.
  • Share your passion, knowledge, and recommendations for activities and attractions within the local community.
  • Demonstrate the ability to problem-solve independently or collaboratively with your team and/or supervisor.
  • Eagerly seek opportunities to ensure guests have everything they need.
  • Conduct on-site activities, including but not limited to stargazing, nature walks, yoga, live music, special events, group events, and holiday-themed activities.
  • Strive for excellence in the guest experience across all departmental priorities, including adventures, on-site activities, retail, and equipment rentals.
  • Demonstrate accountability and diligence in all associated responsibilities.
  • Participate in weekly and daily meetings to ensure Guest Experience Coordinators and Front Desk team members are informed about on-site and off-site activities, upcoming events, groups, special arrivals, and other camp updates.
  • Work efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in guest-facing roles within resorts, hotels, or hospitality environments.
  • Service-minded with a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences.
  • Genuine, outgoing, friendly, and dynamic.
  • Enthusiasm for sharing knowledge of local attractions, landmarks, activities, history, and culture.
  • Strong teamwork and adaptability skills.

Additional Information

  • This position requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when applicable.
  • This position requires the ability to independently lift a minimum of 45 pounds.
  • Physical demands associated with this position include extensive walking, standing, bending, twisting, lifting, and maneuvering in an outdoor environment on uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including but not limited to heat, cold, rain, snow, humidity, and wind.
  • TIPS Certification Required:
    • Must be obtained by the property's opening date or before performing any work involving food or alcohol handling.
  • This position is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of a background check and/or motor vehicle records check, if requested by Under Canvas.
