About The Company
In December of 1965, Cranston Community Action Program (CCAP) was incorporated as a Community Action Agency under the Economic Community Act and was charged to mobilize all resources toward the elimination of poverty and to provide participation of the poor and underserved in program decisions that affected them. At that time CCAP served Cranston, Coventry, Scituate and Foster. As many of our programs grew to include additional cities and towns outside that catchment area, we decided to change our name. In September of 1994 we officially became Comprehensive Community Action, but still CCAP. CCAP’s Mission Statement is quite simple: to empower all people and communities, challenged by poverty as well as social and cultural barriers, through advocacy, education, and access to high quality health and human services. Today, CCAP serves more than 20,000 Rhode Islanders with programs in Cranston, Warwick, Coventry, Providence, Pawtucket, Scituate, and Foster. Programs include: counseling services, health centers and dental care, food, housing and fuel assistance, weatherization, family support and services, Headstart, day care, emergency assistance, education, and job training.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the day to day operation of the Skill / Youth Center including maintenance of records, reporting requirements, staff supervision, meeting grant benchmarks, meeting attendance and onsite supervision of Skill / Youth Center clients while handling some case management responsibilities.


Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree required
  • Three years of experience serving in school or youth organizations
  • Experience in working with inner city youth, human relations, psychology, social work, or related field
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills and organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel and Google platforms
  • Bilingual in Spanish, preferred
  • Provide/maintain all required immunizations and/or vaccinations
  • Complete all required background checks

WORK SCHEDULE DEMANDS:  

  • This is a full-time position.
  • Due to the nature of the job, this individual must be flexible with their schedule to accommodate the client population and community events.
  • Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.
  • May be required to work at any CCAP location



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Oversee daily operations of the youth center while providing exceptional customer service to youth ages 14-24
  • Track and monitor grant mandated enrollment progress and outcomes, adhering to program standards
  • Coordinate employee schedules, ensuring adequate coverage
  • Train all new hired staff in line with company policies and procedures
  • Prepare and submits monthly progress reports
  • Answer inquiries from potential program partners and incoming youth
  • Develop ways to retain youth (ages 14-24) through motivation and encouragement
  • Enforce and ensure all workplace policies and procedures are being adhered to
  • Conduct staff performance reviews
  • Outreach and network with other youth serving programs and High Schools
  • Other duties as assigned

Has full access to program files. Maintains the confidentiality of all materials in accordance with State and Federal laws and CCAP policies and procedures.

All staff are expected to demonstrate cybersecurity awareness and adhere to best practices. This includes familiarity with phishing emails, creating strong passwords, and participating in regular cybersecurity training sessions.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This position requires the individual to have their own transportation, a current unrestricted license to drive, documented auto insurance and the individual must be willing to work in schools, client’s homes and the community.
