About the Role
The HR Generalist will support a broad range of human resources functions, with a primary focus on Compensation & Benefits operations while also contributing to Talent Management initiatives. This role works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient HR processes, compliance with local regulations, and a positive employee experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the design and implementation of compensation programs by Global Rewards Team to ensure market competitiveness.
- Involved in salary benchmarking exercises and labor market surveys to determine prevailing pay practices.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health initiatives, insurance, and wellness activities.
- Support / Assist monthly payroll-related processes, time keeping / attendance tracking.
- Respond to employee queries related to compensation and benefits in a timely manner.
- Assist in updating and implementing C&B policies and procedures.
- Prepare and submit regular C&B reports and support audits by providing required documentation.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations.
- Support government-related submissions (e.g., maternity, paternity, and other statutory leave claims).
- Stay updated on market trends and HR best practices.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned from time to time.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in HR, preferably in Compensation & Benefits or a generalist role.
- Hands-on experience in payroll, timekeeping, and HR operations.
- Experience in data collection, reporting, and analysis.
- Prior experience in a multinational or global organization is preferred.
- Proven ability to engage and communicate with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications and other database application programs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and HR systems/databases (Workday).
- Bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English (spoken and written).
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to handle data accurately.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work across all levels of the organization.
