About the Role

SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION

 

The School of Continuing Education (SCE), one of the seven Faculties/Schools of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) and a major provider of continuing and professional education in Hong Kong, offers a wide range of full-time and part-time programmes at the post-secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate levels for young learners and working adults. SCE also offers in-house training and short courses to meet the community needs and market demands. Operating on a self-financed basis, SCE including its College of International Education currently employ about 400 full-time staff and 550 part-time instructors. SCE is inviting applications for the following position:

 

Programme Officer (Ref. No.: 26270229)

 

SCE is at an advanced stage of progressing towards its registration as a post-secondary college under the applicable law, with completion expected to be within a year. This transformation aims to enhance the internationalisation and diversification of higher education through distinctive, professional programmes that address societal manpower needs. As part of this exciting institutional evolution, successful candidates may be offered the opportunity to transition to the new post-secondary college (upon its successful registration) under a long-term development plan.

 

The appointee will provide day-to-day coordination and administrative support for the Associate Degree and Higher Diploma programmes of the College of International Education (CIE) at the Shek Mun (Shatin) campus. Major duties include: a) matters relating to Continuing Education Fund; b) applications for changes of Concentration Studies; c) committee work and statistical reports; d) course registration; and e) tuition fee partial payment. He/She will also be required to perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

 

  • A bachelor’s degree with at least one year of related work experience; 
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Putonghua);
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills;
  • Proficiency in computer applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing); and
  • Be able to work both independently and in a team.

     

 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test.

 

Subject to the decision of SCE and the new post-secondary college and other factors which may include (but are not limited to) availability of funding and performance, an offer of appointment may be made by the new post-secondary college (upon its successful registration) following the end of the fixed term contract. 

 

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
