About the Role
Contract Period: 1-month
Working Location: Kai Tak
Responsibilities:
- Legal research
- Research discrete legal and regulatory questions on assigned topics (e.g. Hong Kong company law, data privacy, cybersecurity, ESG/sustainability reporting requirements)
- Prepare short written research notes with clear conclusions, sources and practical recommendations
- Summarise recent legislative or regulatory developments relevant to the group's operating jurisdiction
- Document and contract support
- Review sample agreements (NDAs, service agreements) against approved standard templates or review guidance and identify material deviations
- Assist in preparing first-cut summaries or comparison tables of contract terms
- Assist with updating precedent documents, clause banks and template libraries
- Conduct consistency checks on legal documents
- Knowledge management and administration
- Assist with the team's knowledge repository
- Prepare briefing notes, checklists or presentation materials on assigned topics for internal circulation
- Support preparation of materials for internal legal knowledge sharing sessions
- Observation and learning
- Attend selected internal meetings, legal team catch-ups and training sessions (subject to confidentiality and conflicts clearance)
- Meet with lawyers across practice areas for short "how I work" sessions
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Currently studying Bachelor's degree programme in Law (LLB), Juris Doctor (JD), or a related discipline.
- Strong academic performance and demonstrated interest in corporate and commercial law.
- Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Cantonese/Mandarin.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments within agreed timelines.
- High level of integrity and professionalism in handling confidential information.
