About The Company
The group began in 1938 with three physicians,Dr. Charles Dickson, Dr. William Dickson and Dr. Millard Slocum. These three physicians formed a practice and rented quarters at 258 Genesee Street in Utica, NY. By merging their practices, they were able to realize the benefits of a physician-owned multi-specialty group practice to improve the quality of medical care received by patient. As the group grew larger, they moved their facility to its current location on Burrstone Road in New Hartford, NY. Today, the group employs over 100 providers and 500 staff members. As the group continues to expand, the focus is still on patient-centered, physician-directed, quality care.
About the Role

Description

We are seeking an experienced, versatile, and patient-focused Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer to join our outpatient imaging team.


JOB SUMMARY:  The Sonographer will perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations while providing compassionate, professional patient care and working collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, and fellow imaging professionals.

Schedule

? Full-time, Monday–Friday

? 7:30 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–4:00 PM

? No weekends

? No holidays

? No on-call responsibilities


Essential Responsibilities

? Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including:

? Abdomen

? OB/GYN

? Breast

? Pediatrics

? Vascular

? Small parts

? Perform Doppler/duplex examinations as appropriate.

? Assist radiologists and physicians with ultrasound examinations and procedures.

? Provide compassionate and professional patient care throughout the examination.

? Obtain and review prior imaging and reports as needed.

? Utilize EPIC/PACS systems to enter, retrieve, and maintain patient and imaging information.

? Perform daily quality assurance activities and maintain appropriate documentation.

? Ensure proper startup, operation, and calibration of ultrasound equipment.

? Follow established imaging protocols and participate in reviewing and updating procedures.

? Maintain appropriate department supplies and assist with inventory and requisition needs.

? Maintain effective and courteous working relationships with patients, staff, physicians, and administration.

? Perform other duties as assigned.



Requirements

Qualifications

? Graduate of an accredited/certified Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.

? Current ARRT certification and valid New York State license, as applicable.

? ARDMS certification/registry preferred.

? Candidates who are not yet ARDMS registered may be considered based on education, clinical experience, and demonstrated competency.

? Candidates hired without ARDMS registry will be expected to obtain appropriate ARDMS certification within one year of hire, with the opportunity for a contractual agreement outlining the requirements and support provided by the employer.

? Experience and demonstrated competency in a variety of ultrasound examinations, including abdomen, OB/GYN, breast, pediatrics, vascular, and small parts.

? Thorough knowledge of ultrasound theory, techniques, and practices.

? Proficiency in the operation of diagnostic ultrasound equipment.

? Strong attention to detail and ability to make accurate clinical observations.

? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

? Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.


Physical Requirements

The position requires the ability to:

? Sit, stand, bend, reach, and move throughout the workday.

? Perform repetitive movements associated with ultrasound scanning.

? Demonstrate sufficient manual dexterity to operate ultrasound equipment and standard computer/office equipment.

? Lift and/or move up to 20 pounds as required.

? Possess adequate hearing and vision to perform essential job functions.


Work Environment & Safety

The position may involve exposure to hazardous medications/drugs and other materials associated with the healthcare environment. Employees are required to complete OSHA training upon hire and maintain annual OSHA competency as required.
