About the Role:
The Decision Support Unit (DSU) within Canberra Health Services plays a key role in supporting strategic and operational decision-making through the provision of high-quality data, information and decision support services. Health Information Services (HIS) supports a broad range of clinical services across Canberra Hospital, North Canberra Hospital and community health settings, ensuring health information is accurate, accessible and appropriately managed.
This position plays an important role in monitoring and improving inpatient discharge summary completion across Canberra Hospital and North Canberra Hospital. Key responsibilities include analysing discharge summary data within the Digital Health Record, reviewing clinical documentation to validate data accuracy, identifying outstanding discharge summaries and monitoring completion rates.
The position will use Microsoft Excel to extract and analyse data, identify trends and discrepancies, and prepare regular reports for clinical units, divisions and executives. The role will also liaise with Junior Medical Officers, Clinical Unit Directors and other stakeholders to support the timely completion of discharge summaries and contribute to continuous improvement within Health Information Services.
