Junior Engineer - Technology

UGL is seeking a motivated Junior Engineer - Technology to join our team and support the delivery of complex technology and control systems across major infrastructure projects. This is an outstanding opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on exposure to testing, commissioning, systems integration, and project delivery while working alongside experienced industry professionals.
About the Role
You will play a key role in supporting the testing, configuration and deployment of critical technology systems before they are transitioned into the operational environment. You'll gain exposure to system design, rack layouts, cable scheduling, hardware testing, commissioning activities and project documentation.
Working closely with engineers, project teams and subject matter experts, you'll contribute to the successful delivery of technology solutions across a major transport infrastructure project.
Key Responsibilities
- Support engineering, testing, and commissioning activities across technology systems.
- Assist with the preparation and management of technical and project documentation.
- Participate in device and systems testing from level 0 through to Level 6
- Review and maintain design documentation, drawings, and engineering deliverables.
- Support installation, integration, and commissioning activities on project sites.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver project outcomes safely and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and project management requirements.
About You
We are looking for a proactive and technically curious individual who enjoys solving problems and wants to build a long-term engineering career.
You will ideally have:
- A degree in Engineering, Technology, Information Technology, Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
- Exposure to technology, control systems, communications, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn from experienced engineers.
- Experience with technical documentation and the Microsoft Office suite.
- An interest in testing, commissioning, systems integration or operational technology environments.
