About the Lee Shau Kee School of Business & Administration
The Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration at HKMU is one of the largest business schools in Hong Kong, serving over 4,500 students across a comprehensive range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs, and is home to over 150 faculty members across 3 departments. The school is highly regarded for its professional recognition, with many programs holding accreditations or exemptions from major international accounting and business bodies. It strongly emphasizes career readiness by providing internships and global immersion opportunities, while also driving top-quality regionally relevant research through well-resourced infrastructures such as the Institute of International Business and Governance (IIBG). We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration:
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
- Research Excellence: Maintaining an active, high-impact research pipeline. Assistant Professors must demonstrate strong potential to publish in top-tier journals, while Associate Professors and Professors must possess an established, internationally recognized track record of elite publications (e.g., MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, and other UTD 24, FT50, ABS 4* journals), as well as a proven ability to secure research funding;
- Instruction & Curriculum: Teaching core and elective Information Systems and related courses at the undergraduate, MBA, and PhD levels. Developing and delivering modern curricula around business AI applications, data analytics, and digital business transformation; and
- Institutional Leadership: (For Associate Professors and Professors) Providing mentorship to junior faculty and doctoral students, spearheading departmental initiatives, and maintaining visible engagement within the global and local professional and academic bodies.
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
- Education: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Quantitative Marketing, or a closely related business discipline must be completed prior to the appointment start date;
- Assistant Professors: High potential for publishing in premier IS journals and evidence of teaching effectiveness;
- Associate Professors and Professors: A proven record of continuous top-tier publication, teaching excellence, academic leadership, and national/ international visibility;
- Highly desired expertise in AI-driven business strategy, algorithmic governance, responsible AI, or human-AI collaboration;
- Demonstrated ability to bridge technical fields (e.g., Python, machine learning models) with strategic business and management principles; and
- Experience in securing external research funding or building industry partnerships is preferred.
Terms and Conditions for Appointment
An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, a composite cash/housing allowance, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidate. Generous annual leave, staff-development sponsorships, medical and dental benefits, and life insurance coverage will also be provided.
