About the Role

Job Title: Production Manager 
Reports to: Senior Production Manager 
Department: Production 

Summary: Henry Broch Foods is looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations and support our production teams. This position works closely with the Senior Production Manager to coordinate production schedules, manage staffing, and keep operations running safely and efficiently. The Production Manager plays an important role in developing supervisors, supporting employees, and working with other departments to maintain product quality, meet customer needs, and improve our manufacturing processes. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage daily production activities across assigned shifts and production lines, keeping operations organized, efficient, and aligned with production schedules. 
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to Production Supervisors and their teams, helping employees succeed in their roles. 
  • Coordinate staffing, work schedules, production priorities, and resources to meet customer needs and production deadlines. 
  • Review production results, equipment downtime, labor costs, and material usage to identify challenges and opportunities for improvement. 
  • Work with Production Supervisors and Human Resources on employee relations, performance reviews, coaching, staffing needs, and corrective actions. 
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and development of production employees and supervisors. 
  • Review attendance, timekeeping, and payroll approvals through ADP Workforce Now, ensuring supervisors follow established procedures and deadlines. 
  • Oversee employee training requirements through Alchemy, including monthly participation, completion tracking, and follow-up. 
  • Work with Maintenance to coordinate equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and solutions to recurring equipment issues. 
  • Partner with Quality Assurance to maintain food safety, product quality, sanitation, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). 
  • Coordinate with Warehouse and Supply Chain to ensure materials are available and production needs are communicated. 
  • Support Research and Development with product trials, process adjustments, and new product introductions. 
  • Review production reports, work orders, and key performance indicators (KPIs), sharing updates and recommendations with the Senior Production Manager. 
  • Work with supervisors to address safety concerns, support incident investigations, and maintain safe working conditions. 
  • Manage labor utilization, overtime, and staffing costs while maintaining appropriate production coverage. 
  • Maintain clear communication between shifts and departments to address concerns, coordinate priorities, and support smooth operations. 
  • Participate in production planning, inventory activities, and projects focused on improving safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and company needs. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and experience will be considered. 
  • At least five years of leadership experience in manufacturing, preferably in food production. 
  • Experience leading Production Supervisors and teams in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Knowledge of production scheduling, manufacturing equipment, staffing, and workflow. 
  • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles, food safety standards, and sanitation requirements. 
  • Experience with employee relations, performance management, labor planning, and departmental budgets. 
  • Ability to review production reports, monitor KPIs, and make informed decisions. 
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now, Alchemy, or similar systems preferred. 
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. 
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. 
  • Flexibility to work additional hours or occasional weekends based on production needs. 

Work Environment: 

  • Manufacturing environment with production equipment, varying temperatures, noise, and cleaning chemicals. 
  • Regular time spent on the production floor, including standing, walking, bending, and moving throughout manufacturing areas. 
  • Ability to safely navigate equipment, stairs, and production areas. 
  • Ability to lift or move materials up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation. 
  • Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to workplace safety procedures. 
  • Work performed in both office and manufacturing environments.
