Account/Project Support Specialist III

AMECO is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Account/Project Support Specialist III professional to work directly with customers, Operations, Purchasing, and Account Managers to ensure customer-centric and profitable repeat business. As a liaison between the customer and departments within AMECO, this position ensures customer needs are met while maintaining healthy margins.
The ideal candidate is a team player who is comfortable multi-tasking, computer-oriented, organized, and detail oriented, with exceptional customer service skills. Our customer base includes construction businesses, contractors, scaffolding, industrial, electrical power, welding, and rigging industries, to name a few.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare quotes and enter customer orders received directly from customers or Account Managers daily, including large, multi-line, or project-based orders.
- Serve as the primary support contact for key, high-volume, or complex accounts and projects, ensuring reliability and accountability.
- Work directly with the customer and Account Manager on pricing, inventory, and reporting needs for the job, including pricing strategy, margin review, and contract or bid support.
- Make sales and customer service follow-up calls to customers, identifying opportunities for additional business.
- Assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement and increased profitability inside our operation, and lead implementation of agreed improvements.
- Facilitate customer feedback to identify strengths and areas for improvement, and report trends and recommendations to management.
- Collaborate and grow relationships with customers, ensuring reliability and accountability.
- Manage and utilize opportunities to lower overall costs and increase revenue.
- Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems of high complexity, and serve as an escalation point for the team.
- Mentor, train, and guide Account/Project Support Specialists I and II, including onboarding new team members and sharing best practices.
- Develop, document, and maintain standard work, templates, and reports that improve consistency and efficiency across the team.
- Partner with Operations, Purchasing, and Account Managers to proactively resolve order, inventory, and delivery issues.
- Assist with light administration work for the operation center.
- Adhere to and support AMECO's Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Sustainability Policies.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements: Accredited two (2) year technical or business degree and five (5) years of related sales, account management, or customer service experience; or seven (7) or more years of related work experience. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of five to seven years of experience in sales, account management, customer service, or related functions, with a proven track record of sales and customer service success.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex accounts or projects with minimal supervision.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate pricing, margins, and account performance and recommend solutions.
- Strong multitasking skills, with the ability to juggle multiple time-sensitive priorities while delivering quality customer support in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate with business etiquette, verbally and electronically, with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
- Ability to mentor and train others and to work well within a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data analysis, and reporting) and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Industrial/construction tooling knowledge is a plus.
- SAP experience is a definite plus, particularly SAP Business One.
Certifications, Licenses, Registration: No specific certifications required. Contract management or project administration certifications are a plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

- Occasionally the performance of this position will require exposure to production/manufacturing areas, which may result in being near moving mechanical parts or being exposed to fumes or airborne particles. These respective areas will require the use of personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, hearing protection or hard hats. The noise level in the production/manufacturing areas is usually loud.
Travel Requirements: Limited travel may be required for project support, business meetings, training, or site visits. Occasional after-hours support may be required based on operational needs.
