Product Manager

Build the internal products that keep a nationwide private aviation operation moving.
PlaneSense, Inc., headquartered in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, is one of the nation's leading providers of fractional aircraft ownership and private aviation solutions. For more than thirty years, PlaneSense has delivered a flexible, efficient, and customer-focused approach to private air travel through its managed fleet of Pilatus aircraft. Known for exceptional service, operational excellence, and continuous innovation, PlaneSense helps individuals and businesses access private aviation with the benefits of ownership and professional aircraft management.
We're seeking a strategic, market-driven Product Manager to own the product lifecycle, from discovery to delivery, for the internal products that power our fractional aviation business. These are the tools our operations, scheduling, maintenance, sales, and flight crews rely on every day to move faster and make better decisions. In this role, you will sit at the intersection of internal user needs, business goals, and cross-functional execution, defining product vision and building roadmaps that increase operational efficiency and improve data flow across the organization.
This role is as much about how you work as what you build. You'll run discovery sessions, requirements meetings, and cross-functional syncs constantly — so we're looking for someone who is genuinely curious about how people work, thinks beyond the obvious solution, builds real relationships across teams, and keeps projects and stakeholders organized without letting anything fall through the cracks.
We're also looking for someone who brings a real product practice with them. You should have run the full product lifecycle before — continuous discovery through definition, delivery, and iteration — and be able to establish a rhythm rather than working issue to issue.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Vision
- Define and communicate a clear product vision and long-term roadmap for internal tools, aligned with company-wide efficiency and data goals.
- Identify opportunities where better internal systems can reduce friction across scheduling, operations, maintenance, and other business functions.
Product Lifecycle & Process
- Own the full product lifecycle for internal tools and run it as a consistent, repeatable practice rather than case by case.
- Establish lightweight discovery and delivery rituals the team can sustain and adapt them as the portfolio and the organization grow.
Discovery & Internal Research
- Conduct working sessions with internal stakeholders (ops, crew, sales, finance, maintenance) to understand real workflows, pain points, and data gaps.
- Approach problems with genuine curiosity; dig past the first answer to understand root causes, and bring creative, thoughtful solutions to the table.
- Assess how peer companies and adjacent industries solve similar operational and data challenges.
Execution & Delivery
- Translate findings into clear requirements, user stories, and specifications for engineering and design teams.
- Prioritize a roadmap that balances quick efficiency wins with longer-term data infrastructure investments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Meeting Leadership
- Partner daily with engineering, design, and internal business stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery and adoption of new tools.
- Run meetings that move work forward: set clear agendas, keep discussions focused and on time, and drive toward decisions rather than open-ended conversation.
- Proactively draw out perspectives from quieter or less vocal stakeholders, not just the loudest voices in the room, to ensure decisions reflect the full picture.
Organization & Process
- Keep multiple concurrent workstreams, stakeholders, and deadlines clearly tracked and communicated.
- Maintain organized documentation of decisions, requirements, and feedback so nothing gets lost between meetings.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 5+ years applicable experience with managing workflows and lifecycle management, at least 2+ years is Product Management ideally including internal tools, operations/efficiency products, or B2B systems; aviation or other operationally complex industry experience is a plus but not required.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Facilitation: Demonstrated ability to run effective meetings: setting agendas, managing time, surfacing input from quiet contributors, and keeping groups focused on outcomes.
- Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills; comfortable working with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Mindset: Naturally curious, comfortable challenging assumptions, and able to generate creative solutions rather than defaulting to the obvious approach.
- Product Lifecycle: Hands-on working knowledge of the full product management lifecycle, and demonstrated end to end on real products. No certification required; we care that you've done it.
- Discovery Practice: Practical command of modern continuous discovery methods and the judgment to right-size them for the team and the problem.
- Methodologies: Comfortable working in Agile and Scrum environments alongside engineering and design.
