JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Warehouse Lead maintains dock cleanliness and safety. Warehouse Lead responsibilities include providing training to new hires on GMP’s, SOP’s and safety training regulations to ensure compliance. The Warehouse Lead will conduct forklift and system training and will drive continuous improvement with productivity and all other programs/processes.
JOB DUTIES:
- Ensures all employees are working in a highly productive and safe manner
- Works with Warehouse Manager to ensure proper training, coaching, and development is being provided.
- Updates and maintains compliance tracking.
- Tracks and maintains employee productivity standards by efficiently teaching all job functions.
- Inspects/audits all inbound and outbound orders for accuracy, completeness, and compliance, which may include special instructions as requested by customers such as stacking patterns.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse
- Engaged and holds daily start up meetings with appropriate staff
- Manages flow of work in the warehouse and on the shipping dock via warehouse management system
- Understand how to allocate outbound orders and receive raw material goods by following standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Daily communication with outside departments including pass downs, sales, and recap daily force of action to meet organizational goals.
- Performs safety audits
- Assists with QA related functions
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of company GMP’s, all SOP’s, and safety regulations
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, accurate environment
- Should have exceptional leadership and decision-making abilities
- Previous experience using a warehouse management system which includes RF scan guns, VMU units, and handheld RF units
- Must be able to operate various lift trucks, and be able to obtain current forklift MHE certificates
- Pro-active mindset with the ability to apply common sense and good judgment under minimal supervision
- Ability to train other LTO’s
- Ability to accurately write routine reports and simple correspondence.
- Ability to maintain all productivity standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent working experience, and 4+ years of related warehouse experience and/or training.
- Knowledge of warehouse and equipment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have the ability to learn different aspects of the Warehouse, and the ability to lead and teach others how to achieve organizational results
- Preferred experience in a leadership role
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Exposure to cold temperatures ranging from 33°F to 41°F
- Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and use team lifting techniques for weights above 50 lbs.
HOURS & WORKDAYS:
- 2nd shift - Flexible - (start 12:00-5:30pm to end 8:30pm-3:30am)
- Must be able to work overtime, holidays, and weekends based on business needs.
