We're looking for an experienced, well-rounded Marine Service & Warranty Technician to support our Freeman 56 models. This is a hands-on role that involves everything from troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems to performing fiberglass and gelcoat repairs, resolving warranty concerns, and supporting customers both at our facility and in the field.
The ideal candidate enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in their work, and is comfortable handling a variety of repairs. We're looking for someone with a strong marine background who can work independently, communicate well with customers, and isn't afraid to jump in wherever needed.
What You'll Be Doing
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and other onboard systems on Freeman 56 models
- Perform service and warranty repairs, including fiberglass, gelcoat, and general boat repairs as needed
- Troubleshoot and service onboard equipment such as generators, air conditioning systems, ice makers, chillers, watermakers, and 12V electrical systems
- Work directly with customers to identify concerns, explain repairs, and ensure issues are resolved
- Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers when additional technical support is needed
- Document repairs, findings, and warranty work
- Travel to customer locations to perform service and warranty repairs as needed
- Assist with sea trials, testing, and boat handling when required
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on experience with marine service, maintenance, or repair
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a good understanding of marine electrical and mechanical systems
- Experience with fiberglass and gelcoat repairs, along with the ability to perform a variety of general boat repairs
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of repairs from start to finish
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- Willingness to travel as needed, sometimes on short notice
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
Additional Experience That's a Plus
- Experience with Mercury V10/V12 outboards
- Familiarity with marine generators (Fischer Panda, Northern Lights, Onan), air conditioning, refrigeration, and water systems
- Marine electronics experience, including MFDs, radar, and stereo systems
- ABYC certification
- Boat handling experience on vessels up to 60 feet
- Experience working with larger offshore or high-performance boats
You don't need to have experience with every system listed above. We're looking for someone with a strong foundation in marine repair, a willingness to learn, and the ability to tackle a wide range of challenges.
Travel Requirements
- Ability to travel for service and warranty work, including occasional trips lasting up to one week
- Flexibility for travel on short notice when necessary
- Valid passport or ability to obtain one
