We are looking for a compassionate and organized Dispatcher & Scheduler to help coordinate safe, reliable transportation for the individuals and communities we serve. This position will work Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM - 3:00PM.
In this role, you will be an important part of making sure each day runs smoothly and helping clients schedule rides, supporting Vehicle Operators, adjusting routes when plans change, and responding quickly when challenges arise. What You’ll Do
- Coordinate and schedule passenger trips
- Help clients access reliable transportation services
- Monitor daily routes and make adjustments as needs change
- Communicate with clients, Vehicle Operators, medical offices, and community partners
- Respond to delays, cancellations, vehicle issues, and other service needs
- Support Vehicle Operators with clear directions and schedule updates
- Help coordinate rider accommodations and individual service needs
- Maintain accurate trip, rider, and transportation records
- Support the Transportation team with daily operations and documentation
- Occasionally provide driving coverage when needed

Requirements
We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, dependable, organized, and enjoys helping others. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, communicating clearly, and adapting when plans change.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of related experience preferred
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
- Comfortable using computers and learning new software
- Familiarity with local roads and communities
- Valid Illinois driver’s license
- Ability to pass background check
- Spanish-speaking ability is strongly desired
Physical Requirements
This role involves a mix of sitting, standing, and movement throughout the day, with occasional lifting up to 30 lbs. Requires the ability to operate a vehicle and standard office equipment, along with strong vision, hearing, and coordination. Must be able to meet DOT medical requirements for public transit drivers.
