Training Manager - AOE International

Position summary
Lead all instruction at the assigned Hub. The Training Manager owns the curriculum for the CEJA Core Competencies and both Career Pathways, builds the cohort calendar and the training capacity plan the Navigator recruits against, supervises 4 to 8 instructors, and teaches part of the Construction Career Cluster foundation.
Essential duties and responsibilities
• Finalize lesson plans, assessments and lab exercises so they align with the 2027-2029 Clean Jobs Curriculum Framework, and keep them current with employer feedback.
• Build the cohort calendar (nine monthly starts in Year 1) and give the Navigator the training capacity plan: cohorts, seats, pathways and start dates.
• Hire, schedule, observe and coach instructors, and make sure each meets the Framework's instructor requirements.
• Set up and maintain the solar and electrical and EVSE labs, including safety inspections, tool control and consumables.
• Manage credential provider requirements: OSHA outreach records, First Aid/CPR/AED, NABCEP registered training provider status and exam scheduling.
• Teach the Construction Career Cluster foundation and cover classes when an instructor is absent.
• Review attendance and assessment results weekly, and arrange tutoring, re-teaching and re-assessment for participants who are behind.
• Present curriculum and results to the employer advisory group and act on its recommendations.
Requirements
• Five or more years of experience in the electrical, solar or construction trades, or in technical training, including at least two years teaching adults.
• Experience designing curriculum, assessments or lab instruction for occupational training.
• Experience supervising instructors or leading a crew.
• Journeyman electrician status, NABCEP certification or an equivalent industry credential preferred.
• Ability to connect with adult learners from communities underrepresented in the trades.
Training and authorization required
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction; OSHA-authorized Construction outreach trainer status within six months of hire.
• Department authorization and equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility training before working with participants.
