About The Company
Phoenix Rescue Mission is a Christ-centered nonprofit serving our Valley neighbors through three core programs: Street Outreach: Meeting neighbors where they are with water, hygiene items, heat relief, and connections to housing and recovery programs. Residential Recovery: Offering short-term crisis care and long-term programs that address the root causes of addiction and homelessness through counseling, discipleship, workforce development, and life-skills training. Food Distribution: Providing groceries, hygiene items, and case management through the Hope for Hunger Food Bank, mobile pantries, and community markets to people and families in need.
About the Role

Description

We transform lives.

Phoenix Rescue Mission is a place of hope, healing, and new beginnings for men, women, and children facing hunger, homelessness, addiction, and other life-controlling issues. We follow Christ's example of servant-leadership and teamwork, and we are a certified Best Christian Workplace. God is doing important work here, and we'd love for you to be part of it.

As Executive Operations Manager, you are the engine behind our leadership team. You keep the CEO's time pointed at donors, funders, and partners, and you make sure what our Executive Leadership Team (ELT) decides actually gets done.

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

Good decisions only change lives when someone follows them through. You will own the rhythm, the tracking, and the follow-up that turn ELT and Board decisions into results, and you will protect the time of the people leading this ministry.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Run the ELT operating rhythm. Gather leader updates, build agendas, capture decisions, and follow up on every action item until it closes.
  • Drive strategic initiatives from idea to done. Build project plans, set milestones, and check in with owners. Run a shared project board so everyone sees the same status in real time, and flag stalled or competing projects for ELT decisions.
  • Protect the CEO's and Chief of Staff's time. Manage calendars and inboxes, screen and recommend on meeting and speaking requests, prepare briefings before key meetings with donors, funders, and partners, and provide a short daily look-ahead.
  • Support the Board and its committees. Own calendars, agendas, packets, minutes, and governance records.
  • Keep leadership informed. Prepare concise progress updates for ELT and the Board.
  • Support training and special projects. Coordinate consultant-led training, culture events such as Refresh, Spiritual Renewal, and the Christmas party, and other organizational projects as they arise.

Requirements

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Three to five years of progressive experience in executive support, project coordination, or operations. Experience supporting senior executives or a governing board is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred. Some college plus strong, relevant experience is welcome.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects at once and follow through with minimal supervision
  • Sound judgment and strict confidentiality
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and communication skills, including executive-level reports and presentations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and project tools such as Asana or Monday
  • Nonprofit or mission-driven experience preferred
  • A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, and willingness to sign the Mission’s Statement of Faith and Lifestyle

WHO WILL LOVE THIS JOB

  • You anticipate needs before anyone asks.
  • You find satisfaction in a clean calendar, a closed loop, and a team that is moving together.
  • You bring a servant’s heart and a steady, professional presence to a busy leadership team.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Work that matters, alongside a team that celebrates one another
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Generous paid time off
  • Paid holidays: 12

FAITH IS CENTRAL TO WORKING HERE

Phoenix Rescue Mission is an evangelical Christian ministry, and our faith is part of everyday work, not an add-on. Every team member, in every role, is part of the ministry. Before you apply, please consider whether this is an environment where you would be comfortable and want to grow.

  • Statement of Faith and Lifestyle. All employees are required to read, agree with, and sign the Mission’s Statement of Faith and Lifestyle as a condition of employment.
  • A Christ-centered workplace. Prayer, encouragement, and ministry are woven into our meetings and relationships. We look for people who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and/or who are actively growing in their faith, and who want to live it out through excellent work.
If this sounds like where God is leading you, we would love to hear from you. To apply, submit your resume and answer the short questions that follow. We review applications on a rolling basis.
Phoenix Rescue Mission is an equal opportunity employer consistent with its rights as a religious not-for-profit organization to exercise employment preferences for members of the Christian faith. Employees must affirm their alignment with the Mission's Statement of Faith and adhere to the Mission's employee policies and guidelines as set forth by the CEO.
