The Managed Services Administrator is a behind the scenes technical role designed to support, maintain, upgrade, and automate within our managed services technology stack. Someone who loves learning new technology, automation, scripting, and root cause analysis. Driven to find efficiencies and thrives on innovation and working within a team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Daily monitoring of internal and external managed infrastructures
· Behind the scenes support of on-site technical teams
· Liaison with software and cyber security vendors to troubleshoot, repair, and automate
· Monthly network health analysis and reporting for managed services clients
· Continual improvement of managed service alerting systems and proactive automation
· Contribute to team goals with regards to SLA requirements, case resolution, and customer satisfaction
· Participate in emergency on call rotation
Requirements
Microsoft Windows Server & Active Directory
- Administration and troubleshooting of Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022, and 2025.
- Strong understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file and print services.
- Experience troubleshooting domain authentication, permissions, replication, and related infrastructure issues.
- Familiarity with Remote Desktop Services and Windows Server virtualization.
Microsoft 365 & Cloud Services
- Administration and troubleshooting of Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and Entra ID.
- Experience managing users, licensing, shared mailboxes, distribution groups, and mail flow.
- Understanding of Microsoft 365 security, MFA, Conditional Access, and identity synchronization.
- Familiarity with hybrid Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune and endpoint management is a plus.
Networking & Security
- Good understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, switching, and wireless networking.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting business-class firewalls, preferably SonicWall, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or similar platforms.
- Ability to diagnose connectivity, performance, and network authentication issues.
- Familiarity with endpoint detection and response (EDR), antivirus, MFA, and security best practices.
Virtualization, Storage & Backup
- Experience supporting Microsoft Hyper-V and/or VMware virtualization environments.
- Working knowledge of Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, RAID, and enterprise storage technologies.
- Experience with enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Ability to investigate backup failures, perform restores, and validate backup integrity.
- Familiarity with NAS, SAN, and network-attached storage solutions.
MSP Tools & Service Delivery
- Experience working with Professional Services Automation (PSA) and Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) platforms.
- Familiarity with tools such as Autotask PSA, N-able N-central, ConnectWise, or equivalent solutions.
- Ability to investigate monitoring alerts, manage escalated tickets, and proactively address infrastructure issues.
- Strong documentation skills, including accurate ticket notes, troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and technical procedures.
- Understanding of service-level agreements (SLAs), ticket prioritization, escalation procedures, and customer communication.
Additional Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of PowerShell for troubleshooting, administration, and basic automation.
- Experience with remote troubleshooting tools and supporting geographically distributed environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex Windows workstation and server hardware/software issues.
- Familiarity with infrastructure migrations, system upgrades, and deployment projects.
