We're seeking a Special Education Teacher to lead a self-contained classroom of approximately 10 students, primarily with autism and varying levels of support needs. The school-day schedule is 8:30 AM–3:40 PM. The ideal candidate will deliver tailored instruction and foster a structured, supportive learning environment.
The selected educator will lead a self-contained classroom, provide individualized instruction aligned with students’ IEPs, and support learners with autism, including those with significant support needs. Responsibilities include implementing positive behavior management strategies, monitoring student progress, maintaining accurate documentation, and participating in IEP meetings and goal development.
Requirements
Must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field and an active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with the appropriate Special Education endorsement. Experience supporting students with autism and complex needs is preferred, along with the ability to deliver individualized instruction and maintain a structured, supportive classroom environment.
