Manufacturing Engineer - Bangkok, Thailand

SUMMARY OF ROLE
Phononic, a global leader in solid-state cooling and heating technology, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer based in Thailand. This person will serve as the lead technical representation for Phononic at our contract manufacturing facility in Thailand, with responsibility for enabling the Contract Manufacturing team to meet quality, throughput, and yield metrics.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Communicate manufacturing procedures and best practices as defined by Phononic headquarters.
· Train contact manufacturing counterpart (operators, technicians, engineers, and planners) on Phononic processes.
· Work closely with the engineering, production, and quality teams in North Carolina to develop, improve and implement documentation and procedures such as FMEAs, OCAPs, and work instructions.
· Review in-line process yields and execute escalation plan as needed. Report failure modes to global operation team and collaborate on root cause analysis.
· Collaborate with our Contract Manufacturing NPI engineering team to verify new product setups and own qualification support.
· Ensure the manufacturing equipment setup is optimized to meet factory planning goals.
· Be the subject matter expert on-site for Phononic’s assembly processes and equipment, including optimization for throughput and yield.
· Participate in daily manufacturing reviews with the US team.
· Partner with the on-site automation engineer to deploy next-generation manufacturing technologies on Phononic’s equipment.
· Drive cost saving, process efficiency improvement project.
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or equivalent field.
· Minimum 5 years of experience in an engineering role in a high precision electronic devices/ semiconductor manufacturing environment.
· Knowledge of root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies, such as 8D, pareto, fishbone, and 5 Whys.
· Familiarity with assembly techniques such as screen printing, solder reflow, die bonding, and functional testing.
· Ability to learn new assembly and metrology processes with training from US-based engineering organization.
· Willingness to train and review the manufacturing processes on all factory shifts.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis software such as JMP or Minitab.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluent in English and Thai.
· Approved for business travel to the US.
