About the Role

Description

Vari, originally known as VariDesk®, started the standing desk revolution. Now in its 13th year, Vari’s mission is to create workspaces that elevate people. As our Online Retail Channel Manager, you’ll own the strategy and day-to-day performance of our Amazon third-party seller channel, our largest online retail marketplace, while helping grow our presence on other marketplaces. You’ll have direct responsibility for channel growth, guide our external agency, and work hands-on to improve how customers discover and buy Vari products. Reporting to the Vice President of E-Commerce, you’ll connect merchandising and advertising decisions with inventory and fulfillment execution. This is an opportunity to make a measurable impact on an established Amazon business and help determine how our marketplace capabilities evolve as we grow. This hybrid role is based at our Coppell, Texas office, with three days in office each week. Candidates must be local to Dallas–Fort Worth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute our Amazon and broader marketplace strategy, aligning merchandising, marketing, technology, and operations to achieve annual revenue goals.
  • Lead the retail operations and merchandising relationship with our external agency, setting priorities and holding partners accountable for channel results.
  • Share ownership of the advertising agency relationship with our Director of Paid Media. The agency supports Amazon and direct-to-consumer advertising; you’ll own Amazon media details, guiding campaign strategy, execution, optimization, and performance with the agency.
  • Own key channel activities, including new product launches, product listing and A+ Content optimization, and promotional planning and execution.
  • Partner with internal teams to coordinate inventory availability and fulfillment performance, with a focus on our Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM) business and Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP) eligibility.
  • Monitor account health, Prime eligibility metrics, and Buy Box performance; resolve pricing discrepancies, competing offers, and listing or policy issues that affect sales.
  • Analyze channel performance daily, identify opportunities, and deliver sales forecasts and actionable recommendations to the VP of E-Commerce and Vari leadership.
  • Manage channel budgets for advertising, promotions, tools, and agency fees, and contribute to annual budget planning.
  • Evaluate fulfillment options, including Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), and recommend approaches that support customer experience and business economics.
  • Identify and analyze opportunities in other online retail marketplaces, assess their business potential and operational requirements, and lead implementation where expansion makes sense.
  • Stay current with Amazon policies, tools, and best practices to keep our channel competitive and compliant.
  • Help shape our future marketplace team by evaluating agency performance and opportunities to bring capabilities in-house, with the potential to hire and lead specialists as the business evolves.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience managing and growing an Amazon third-party seller business, with demonstrated ownership of channel strategy and results.
  • Deep working knowledge of Seller Central, product merchandising, A+ Content, and Amazon performance metrics, plus hands-on experience managing Amazon paid advertising strategy and campaign performance.
  • Experience with Amazon fulfillment models and the operational factors that affect inventory availability, delivery performance, and customer experience. Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM) experience is preferred; Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP) experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience leading external agencies, vendors, or direct reports, with clear expectations and accountability for performance.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn channel data into practical decisions about advertising, promotions, and growth.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate internal teams and external partners while staying close to day-to-day execution.
  • A proactive approach to solving problems and the ability to carry initiatives from planning through completion.
  • Experience with other online retail marketplaces, such as Walmart Marketplace, is a plus.
  • Experience selling durable goods in the $500–$1,500 price range is desirable but not required.
