About the Role

Description

Account Recovery Specialists, Inc. (“ARSI®”), a progressive financial services company headquartered in Wichita, KS, with offices in Wichita and Dodge City, KS, for the opportunity to gain experience in civil litigation. ARSI® is seeking an energetic and organized entry-level Attorney to join their team, and while licensing is not required upon application or hire, it must be obtained within 6 months. ARSI® offers paid time off to study for the bar exam for those not yet licensed.

ARSI® is an award-winning company and offers entry-level attorneys a broad range of experience in civil litigation, from determining when to recommend suits to post-judgment executions in multiple jurisdictions.


Responsibilities may change at the discretion of management based on business needs.

  • Represent creditors who’ve placed accounts with ARSI in their civil collection actions, both via pleadings and in-court appearances ranging from large dockets to individualized hearings
  • Utilize ARSI’s processes and systems to coordinate the handling of cases and ensure ARSI and clients are properly updated on the status of accounts
  • Communicate effectively and comply with all rules and regulations governing civil procedure and the collection industry
  • Assist as requested with in-house matters, including corporate legal matters and advisory opinions
  • Managing a caseload of civil litigation matters, with an emphasis on resolving cases prior to trial
  • Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents 
  • Handle all phases of litigation, including case strategy, discovery, and trial preparation 
  • Negotiate settlements and payment arrangements on behalf of clients 
  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic guidance on case handling 
  • Communicate effectively with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and internal teams

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate
  • Kansas law license (including those who have obtained or will be obtaining another state law license with which a KS license can be obtained by reciprocity or UBE score)
  • No experience necessary, but experience or interest in civil litigation will be of benefit
