St George Private Hospital is a 276-bed facility, which underwent a major redevelopment in 2016. St George Private Hospital is one of Australia’s most modern private hospitals – with a strong surgical expertise in cardiac, orthopaedics, cancer care, spinal surgery, endoscopy, aged care, general surgery and obstetrics.

This opportunity will see you join a dedicated and supportive team responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness throughout the hospital.

This position specifically focuses on overnight cleaning of operating theatres, working from 10:00 pm to 4:30 am (2200–0430). You will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe environment and supporting the hospital's infection prevention and control standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness to all areas, including wards and operating theatres
• Ensuring all equipment utilised on shifts is cleaned, restocked and stored in the appropriate storage areas
• Working in a friendly and supportive manner at all times
• Maintaining communication networks with nursing staff and other stakeholders ensuring quality clinical outcomes are achieved

About You: 

Skills and Experience:

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have experience in cleaning services or housekeeping services
• Previous experience in a hospital desirable
• Experience with auto scrubbers and polish machines
• Enjoy providing a great customer service experience
• Be a team player and love to work within a large team
• Demonstrate attention to detail and take pride in your work
• Be dedicated to the highest standards of safety, cleanliness and infection control
• Flexibility to work across a 7-day rotating roster.

Remuneration

On offer is a base hourly rate of $27.20 + superannuation, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (NSW General Services Officer level 2)
