Position Overview:
The Equipment (Saw) Operator is responsible for safely operating saw equipment to cut materials according to specifications. This role ensures accuracy, quality, and productivity standards are met while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
- Operate manual and auto saws (e.g., band saw, table saw, panel saw) to cut materials such as foam, plastic, or other packaging materials
- Prepare and operate equipment to cut foam planks into dimensions as defined by instructions
- Measure, mark, and verify material dimensions using tape measures, calipers, and gauges
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and cut sheets
- Adjust saw settings (blade height, angle, feed rate) to ensure precision cuts in accordance with safety standards
- Maintain pre-and-post equipment inspections
- Communicate equipment issues or material defects to supervisor promptly
- Keep equipment and surrounding areas clean and safe
- Assist with Production Worker duties such as assembling packaging products, shrink wrapping pallets, inspecting products, etc. as needed
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Support and comply with all company policies and safety requirements
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Three months + of experience in manufacturing, production or similar industries
- Forklift experience and prior certification preferred
- Ability to read tape measures and perform basic math calculations (fractions, decimals)
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and work orders
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
