Software Quality Engineer (m/f/x) [Automation] in Kathmandu

Your Contribution

• Oversee the quality assurance processes for both internal and customer-facing software projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, incorporating both manual and automated testing methodologies. Maintain and evolve test frameworks to improve efficiency and accuracy in testing.
• Preparation, execution, documentation, and communication of tests.
• Actively participate in the continuous improvement of test methods, processes, and tools. Regularly share best practices and contribute to the development of standardized procedures.
• Foster close collaboration between project teams, IT architects, and project management to align quality assurance objectives with project goals.

Your Day-to-Day Tasks

• Gather requirement specifications. Work closely with stakeholders to gather comprehensive requirement specifications.
• Create detailed documentation of test plans, test cases, and testing results. Communicate findings effectively to relevant stakeholders.
• Engage with development teams to ensure a clear understanding of software requirements and functionalities.
• Perform exploratory testing with a focus on identifying and documenting defects.
• Review defects and test logs to identify root causes and suggest solutions for improving testing, documentation, and process improvement.
• Automate test cases and maintain test automation frameworks to improve testing efficiency. 
• Monitor and report on test progress, coverage, and results to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software. 
• Discover bugs and report them.
• Performance tests.
• Security tests.

Your Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or comparable experience
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Software Quality Engineer.
• Hands-on experience with test automation, ideally using frameworks such as Cypress or Playwright.
• Experience with the JavaScript programming language.
• Quality and Customer-Oriented ability to work independently, with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, or GitHub Actions.
• Entrepreneurial thinking, combined with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, product managers, and designers, and to communicate issues clearly and constructively.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
