About the Role

Join the API Management Platform (AMP) team and support the engineering, automation, operation and continuous improvement of enterprise API services. The role helps maintain reliable platform services through disciplined deployment, monitoring, security, incident support and lifecycle management.

You will work primarily with Apigee X and associated cloud and platform tooling, collaborating with network, cloud, security and application teams to provide stable and scalable services. This is a hands-on platform engineering and operations role, rather than a position focused primarily on developing business APIs.

Your role as DevOps Engineer - API Management Platform:

• Operate and support AMP environments, API gateway configuration, runtime services and associated tooling; work with application teams on deployment and connectivity issues.
• Build and maintain reusable CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, configuration and operational automation in line with agreed platform standards.
• Support deployments, platform configuration changes and lifecycle activities, including patching and upgrades of team-managed components.
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, alerts, dashboards and operational checks.
• Troubleshoot platform, infrastructure and connectivity issues with network, cloud and security teams.
• Participate in incident response, problem management and root-cause analysis.
• Participate in the on-call support rotation, responding to platform incidents outside normal working hours and coordinating troubleshooting, escalation and service restoration.
• Support capacity, performance, availability and service-continuity improvements.
• Participate in disaster recovery, failover and recovery exercises; maintain recovery runbooks and address identified gaps.
• Remediate vulnerabilities, security findings and compliance gaps.
• Maintain runbooks, support documentation and operational evidence.
• Contribute to scalable, secure and standardized platform-engineering practices.

Ready to embark on the journey? Here's what we are looking for:

• Experience in DevOps, platform engineering or cloud operations.
• Experience administering or supporting Apigee X or a comparable enterprise API platform.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, Linux administration, Git version control, CI/CD pipelines and scripting using Python, Bash or equivalent.
• Practical experience with infrastructure-as-code tools and repeatable infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, alerts and dashboarding tools.
• Understanding of networking, security, certificates and API runtime operations.
• Understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, backup and recovery, and secure platform operations.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation and collaboration skills.

Nice to have:

• Experience with GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub Actions or comparable technologies.
• Experience with API gateway deployment automation and SRE practices.
• Experience in a global enterprise support environment.
