Shipping Supervisor

Position Overview

The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all daily shipping and finished-goods warehouse operations within a chemical manufacturing facility specializing in aerosol products. This position ensures that finished products are properly staged, packaged, palletized, documented, and shipped in a safe, accurate, and timely manner. The Shipping Supervisor leads and develops the shipping team while maintaining strict compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, hazardous materials shipping requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and manage daily activities of shipping and warehouse employees.
• Coordinate outbound shipments, carrier pickups, and shipping schedules.
• Ensure finished aerosol products are properly packaged, palletized, labeled, and secured for transportation.
• Verify order accuracy, product quantities, lot numbers, and shipping documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable DOT hazardous materials shipping regulations.
• Promote safe handling and storage of pressurized aerosol containers and hazardous materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and shipping transactions.
• Ensure forklifts, loading docks, and warehouse areas are operated and maintained safely.
• Coordinate with production, quality, and customer service to meet shipping deadlines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
• Monitor employee performance, shipping accuracy, productivity, and safety.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of warehouse or shipping experience.
• Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing or aerosol production preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT hazardous materials shipping requirements.
• Forklift experience and ERP system knowledge preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Physical Requirement

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds as needed, operate or work around warehouse equipment, and wear required PPE.
