Position Description:
Fortem Technologies is currently in search of an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead product strategy and roadmap for our DroneHunter family of autonomous interceptor drones and related counter-drone systems. As a Product Manager you will work as part of a dynamic product team responsible for product planning, roadmap development, and documentation to define and advance the DroneHunter platform and its integration within the SkyDome family of systems. This is an exciting and demanding role requiring strategic vision, technical creativity, passion for defense innovation, and strong cross-functional leadership. This position reports to the EVP Solution Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Own and manage the product roadmap for the DroneHunter family of autonomous interceptors, defining advanced feature sets for AI-enhanced autonomy, swarm defense, capture systems, and SkyDome integration to sustain technology leadership in counter-drone solutions
Drive innovation to solve complex counter-drone challenges, advance next-gen interceptor capabilities such as swarm defense and adaptive autonomy, and identify new market applications for Fortem’s systems in defense and infrastructure protection
Work in close collaboration with marketing and sales teams to develop effective product marketing, positioning, lead generation, sales enablement, and support strategies tailored to the DroneHunter interceptor family
Work closely with sales, capture, and BD teams to provide deep product expertise and competitive insights that help win new DoD, government, and commercial business and ensure successful project delivery
Develop robust product requirements documents (PRDs) and prioritize the roadmap using customer feedback, operational data, and threat intelligence to meet current needs and future capability requirements for interceptor C-UAS systems
Establish, refine, and champion effective agile product development processes and documentation standards optimized for complex integrated hardware-software systems in the defense domain
Oversee the product lifecycle and handoff of new DroneHunter configurations, software/firmware releases, and supporting hardware (such as DroneHangar systems) from engineering and manufacturing to operations, training, and customer support teams
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, aerospace, robotics, or similar technical discipline; advanced degree preferred
A minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary product development for complex hardware/software or electro-mechanical systems
3+ years leadership experience managing or leading product and/or cross-functional engineering teams
Proven track record in product planning, pricing, requirements definition, launching successful products, and managing full product life cycles—ideally for autonomous systems, UAVs, or complex sensor-fused platforms
Experience working in agile development environments as part of highly integrated cross-functional teams collaborating with engineering (hardware and software), marketing, sales, and operations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong ability to communicate complex technical and strategic subjects effectively to diverse audiences
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and collaboration skills with a team-oriented approach
Customer-obsessed mindset with willingness to travel regularly to engage customers directly, support field demonstrations, testing, and gather operational insights
Desired Skills
Demonstrated thought leadership, creativity, and strategic vision in defining product direction for advanced technology or defense systems
Direct experience with UAV/drone platforms, counter-UAS or interceptor systems, autonomous robotics, or related defense technologies
Experience with radar systems, sensor fusion, AI at the edge, or multi-domain command-and-control solutions
