Job Description
We seek a Scientist / Senior Scientist within the Biology Group in the Department of Research & Operation at our US site in Redwood Shores, California. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing assays that support screening, mechanism of action, translational relevance, and/or biomarker identification for several programs focused on targeting myeloid cells for cancer immunotherapy.
Job Duties
Execute standard immunological assays (cell proliferation, cytokine analysis, phenotyping) using a variety of methods (plate-based assays, ELISA, flow cytometry, cell reporter assays)
Creatively adapt standard assays or develop novel assays to test the unique biology of our platform.
Isolate and analyze cell subsets of interest from various tissues or mixed cell suspensions.
Support PK/PD and biomarker analysis as needed
Present data at regular group meetings and recommend next steps
Document research activities and findings in electronic laboratory notebooks and reagent registries in keeping with the highest industry standards
Exhibit excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and time management skills
Lab activities will be ~75% time
Required Experience/Qualifications
BA/BS or equivalent in biology, immunology, or a related discipline with 4+ years of relevant industry or academic research experience; MS degree or equivalent in biology, immunology, or a related discipline and 2+ years of experience conducting original research
Deep understanding of immunology.
Experience developing immune assays and working with primary immune cells (B, T, myeloid, and NK) is required.
Proficiency in developing multi-parameter flow cytometry panels, analysis of immune cell function, and immune cell isolation.
Skilled in the development of assays such as binding, internalization, and/or various immunoassays to assess complex biology
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enthusiasm and curiosity in science, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic cross-functional environment
Experience with drug discovery and/or early development
Experience with bioinformatics/computational biology tools would be a plus
