About the Role
About Corgi
Corgi is a specialty insurance carrier built for the trucking industry. We write commercial auto liability, motor truck cargo, and a growing suite of trucking and freight products across different types of carrier infrastructure. We are vertically integrated: underwriting, regulatory filings, technology, distribution, and claims all run in house.
The Role
Every insurance carrier runs on the connective tissue between four functions: underwriting decides what we write, filings determines where and how we can write it, engineering builds the systems that make it happen, and sales brings in the business. You will own that connective tissue.
You will run real workflows, own real deadlines across compliance, customers, and brokers, and build the operational machinery of a carrier. You will work directly with the executive team daily. Within a month, you will understand how an insurance carrier actually works, end to end, at a depth most people in the industry never reach.
What You Will Do
Run the policy lifecycle: submission intake and clearance, quote-to-bind workflow, policy issuance, endorsements, cancellations, and renewals
Own regulatory operations: support rate, rule, and form filings across states, manage surplus lines compliance (stamping offices, affidavits, taxes), track RRG registrations and state licensing, and keep the filing calendar clean
Translate operational needs into specs for the engineering team, then test and ship the internal tooling that automates your own work
Support distribution operations: producer onboarding and verification (licenses, W-9s, ACH), commission calculation and payout, and channel reporting
Build the reporting layer: premium and loss reporting, production dashboards, and data for regulators, reinsurers, and leadership
Find manual processes, document them, then kill them with better systems
Who You Are
1+ year in management consulting, investment banking, or a comparable high-intensity analytical role
No insurance experience required. We will teach you the industry. What we cannot teach is precision, speed, and ownership
Detail-obsessed: filings and compliance work punish sloppiness, and you find errors before anyone else does
Strong in Excel; SQL or Python a plus
Comfortable owning outcomes without a playbook, in a company where the playbook is being written in real time
Based in Boston or ready to relocate; this role is in office
Why This Role
Most operations jobs at your stage mean owning a slice of a mature machine. Here you help build the machine. Carriers are regulated, capital-intensive businesses that almost never get built from scratch, and the people who learn to run them early are rare and valuable. Strong performance leads directly to expanded scope and leadership of the operations function as we grow. Titles here are earned, not granted, and the org chart is full of open seats.
Compensation and Benefits
$100,000 to $125,000 base salary, depending on experience
Annual performance bonus
Health, dental, and vision coverage
401(k)
How to Apply
Send a three sentence summary of the hardest operational problem you have solved and why you’re a great fit.
